Nexon Just Announced a Brand New "AAA MMORPG MASTERPIECE"…

Everyone knows Nexon, right? They shut down their California studio earlier this year, shut down MapleStory 2, shut down Peria Chronicles, gave up publishing rights to Dragon Nest, Riders of Icarus and Dungeon Fighter Online.
Yeah, that Nexon. The Nexon that outside of MapleStory, Mabinogi and Vindictus, have shut down pretty much every title they’ve released up until this point.
Well, boy do I have exciting news for you guys! They just announced we’re getting a brand new MMORPG – yup, they’re working on another new title to release after their recent V4 launch onto PC.

And no, the new MMO isn’t Project BBQ. They’re still supposedly working on Project BBQ with devCat apparently still hard at work on getting the game ready for a 2020 test phase.
This is an entirely new project. Well, one of two upcoming projects.

This new MMORPG is scheduled to release after 2021.

  2. Would be great If devCat could somehow find themself a new publisher… And maybe finish mabinogi 2, Cuz the first one had a dope combat/gameplay system but wasn't much of a looker and there server lagged like shit unless you played on your regional server that they probably shut down before even updating the game all the way "cough" euro servers "cough"

  3. Why nexon instead of keeping releasing and shut down titles they fix global maplestory which is trashly optimized and being constanly changed to be more difficult cuz nexon don't know what to do to make the people keep playing and wasting money in their game anyway I love mushroom game and im gonna still playing it :p

  5. It feels pretty bad to see all the people hating Nexon for saying they are trying to make a "AAA MMORPG MASTERPIECE". Both Maplestory and Mabinogi were and are masterpieces, I won't explain why because it would take 10 years. However they do have small but stupid issues just like every other game. And they aren't pay to win! A rarity unlike other super popular "masterpieces" like GTA Online which ignores crucial fixes and only takes action against money glitches.

I really REALLY hope Nexon finally takes all the darts they have thrown and take what the players like from each MMORPG they have tossed out there and make a MMORPG that can be enjoyed for a few years. Or go ask FFXV how to do it.

  6. Vindictus is still one of the best fighting style mmorpg. It's what keeps me hooked. I love the playstyle. It's just a shame the game is stuck to Nexon, it had and still had so much potential. It's still worth playing to me.

  7. Nexon fully acquired Stockholm-based Embark Studio (founded by Patrick Söderlund, former chief designer at EA) last year, they call themselves "AAA studio" and they say "they will help Nexon to create ground-breaking online game experiences that are successful on a global scale". Embark was already working on their first game with Unreal Engine 4, which will take place on a large landmass, the developer is trying to push visual fidelity on a large scale 256 square kilometers with completely dynamic weather & lighting. they released some pictures and video showing amazing graphics. so after Nexon bought the studio this awesome game will be obviously a Nexon game.
